HSA & FSA Accepted

Best Dental accepts Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) — one of the smartest ways to pay for dental care using pre-tax dollars.

HSA FSA Pay With Pre-Tax Dollars

HSA and FSA funds can be used for virtually all dental services at Best Dental — from routine cleanings and X-rays to major restorative work, implants, and orthodontics. Using pre-tax HSA or FSA dollars effectively gives you a 20–37% discount depending on your tax bracket, making it one of the most cost-effective ways to pay for dental care.

Routine cleanings & exams
Dental X-rays & imaging
Fillings, crowns & bridges
Root canals & extractions
Dental implants
Orthodontics & Invisalign
Oral surgery & wisdom teeth
Night guards & appliances
Sedation dentistry
Emergency dental care
Pro tip — combine HSA/FSA with financing: Use your HSA or FSA balance to cover part of your treatment, then finance any remaining balance through CareCredit or an in-house plan. This maximizes your pre-tax savings while keeping monthly payments low. Ask our financial coordinator to help you structure this.

🤝

In-House Plan Features

Customized payment schedules arranged directly with Best Dental

No credit check required — approval based on income and payment history, not credit score
Often 0% interest — many plans carry no interest when payment terms are met
Flexible terms — payment schedules customized to your monthly budget
Lower down payment options — accessible entry points to begin treatment
Direct relationship — work with our team throughout your entire payment period
Fast approval — can often be arranged during the same consultation visit

How In-House Plans Work

During your consultation, discuss treatment costs with our financial coordinator. Based on the total amount and your budget, we create a customized payment schedule — typically requiring a down payment (10–30% of total) with the remaining balance divided into monthly installments. Most plans complete within 6–24 months depending on treatment cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept HSA and FSA cards?
Yes — Best Dental accepts both Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards for all qualifying dental services. Most dental treatments are HSA/FSA-eligible, including cleanings, X-rays, fillings, crowns, implants, oral surgery, orthodontics, night guards, and emergency care. Simply bring your HSA or FSA card and we'll process it like a regular debit card. Using pre-tax HSA/FSA dollars effectively lowers your treatment cost by 20–37% depending on your tax bracket.
What credit cards and payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and all major debit cards. We also support contactless and tap-to-pay options including Apple Pay and Google Pay at our front desk. HSA and FSA cards are accepted just like regular debit cards. Cash and checks are also welcome. For online payments, you can pay through our patient portal as well. View our pricing page for service estimates before your appointment.
What if I have no dental insurance?
No insurance? No problem. Best Dental offers two great options for uninsured patients: our Dental Discount Plan, an in-house membership that provides 15–50% discounts on all services for an annual fee with no waiting periods or claim limits; and our flexible payment plans through CareCredit, Cherry financing, or in-house arrangements. Many uninsured patients combine the discount plan with a payment plan to get the most affordable path to care.
What if I have bad credit?
Bad credit doesn't prevent dental treatment at Best Dental. While CareCredit requires fair credit, Cherry financing approves more patients including those with less-than-perfect credit. Our in-house payment plans don't require credit checks at all — we base approval on income and ability to make monthly payments. Our Dental Discount Plan also reduces treatment costs without any financing. We work with every patient to find an affordable solution regardless of credit history.
Which insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most major PPO dental insurance plans including Delta Dental, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Guardian, MetLife, and UnitedHealthcare. We do not currently accept Medicaid or CHIP. If you're unsure whether we accept your plan, use our insurance verification tool or call us at (281) 215-3065 — we'll check your benefits same-day at no charge.
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for cosmetic dentistry?
Generally, HSA and FSA funds can only be used for medically necessary dental treatments — not purely cosmetic procedures. Teeth whitening and elective veneers for cosmetic purposes are typically not covered. However, many treatments that also have a cosmetic benefit (such as dental crowns, bonding to repair damaged teeth, or orthodontics for bite correction) are HSA/FSA-eligible. Our financial coordinator can help identify which portions of your treatment qualify for HSA/FSA coverage.
Can I combine insurance with HSA/FSA and a payment plan?
Absolutely — this is actually the most effective approach. Insurance pays its portion first, you use HSA/FSA pre-tax dollars for your co-pay or remaining balance, and if anything is left you finance it through CareCredit or an in-house plan. This three-way combination often dramatically reduces or eliminates your out-of-pocket costs. Our financial coordinators specialize in structuring this for patients with larger treatment needs.
Can I pay off my balance early?
Yes — both CareCredit and our in-house plans allow early payoff without penalty. Paying off CareCredit promotional balances before the deadline ensures you avoid all interest charges. In-house plans benefit from early payoff by reducing total obligation. We always encourage patients to pay extra when possible.
Does insurance cover the entire treatment?
Rarely. Most plans have annual maximums ($1,000–$2,000) and cover procedures at different percentages — preventive at 100%, basic at 80%, major at 50%. Insurance helps significantly reduce costs but rarely covers 100% of treatment. We estimate your insurance coverage before treatment begins so you always know your expected out-of-pocket cost, and we help you use HSA/FSA and financing to cover the balance.
How long do payment plans last?
CareCredit promotional periods run 6–24 months at 0% interest; extended plans run 24–60 months with reduced APR and fixed monthly payments. In-house plans typically span 6–24 months. We work with you to set monthly payments that fit your budget — which determines the plan length. Shorter plans mean less interest but higher payments; longer plans are more manageable but cost slightly more overall.
