Braces Removal Near Katy, TX

Braces Removal and Retainer Pricing
No surprise fees. The removal price is the same whether your case is simple or complex. Retainers are priced separately so you can choose what is right for your situation.
Brackets, Wires & Cleanup Included
Removal of all orthodontic hardware plus polish and cleanup of bonded enamel residue. Same-day after exam if cleared.
Prevent Relapse After Removal
Custom-fitted retainer to hold your teeth in their current position. Without retainers, teeth begin shifting back within weeks.
Dr. Jasmine Naderi performs a 15 to 20 minute exam first to confirm braces removal is appropriate for your case. If cleared, removal can be done the same day. New patient exam fee is $99, applied as a credit toward your removal if you proceed. Insurance does not typically cover standalone braces removal.
Common Reasons for Braces Removal
You do not need to explain or justify why you want them off. These are the situations we hear most often from patients who come to Best Dental for removal.
Orthodontist Moved or Closed
Your original provider relocated, retired, or shut down. You are stuck with brackets and no one to take them off. We handle this every week.
Treatment Has Dragged On Too Long
You were promised 18 to 24 months and you are now at year 3 or 4. The result is good enough. You are ready to be done.
Financial Issues with Provider
Disputes over payment, unexpected charges, or the provider stopped working with you over billing. We will not get involved in that history.
You Moved to Katy
You finished most of your treatment somewhere else and moving back is impractical. Get the braces off near Katy and move on with your life.
Big Life Event Coming Up
Wedding, graduation, big interview, or family photos. Even an early or partial removal might be worth the timeline trade-off for the right occasion.
Just Done with Them
Sometimes the simplest reason. After years of brackets, you are tired of the discomfort, the cleaning, the dietary restrictions. We get it.
From Exam to Braces Off
A clinical exam first to confirm appropriateness. Removal the same day if cleared. Most patients are in and out within 90 minutes total.
Dr. Jasmine Naderi examines your teeth, gums, and current orthodontic state. She will tell you honestly what your teeth look like now and what continued treatment could achieve. The exam takes 15 to 20 minutes.
⏱ 15 to 20 minutesIf your case is appropriate for removal and you want to proceed, we move directly to removal. If Dr. Naderi has clinical concerns, she will explain them clearly. The decision is always yours.
⏱ 5 minutesBrackets and wires are removed using a debonding instrument. The bonded enamel residue is polished away and your teeth are cleaned. This step is the part most patients have been waiting for. 30 to 45 minutes per arch.
⏱ 30 to 45 min per archIf you choose a retainer, custom impressions are taken and your retainer can often be fitted the same day. Wear instructions are reviewed. Without a retainer, teeth begin shifting back within weeks. With one, you protect the result of all those months in braces.
⏱ 20 to 30 minutesAbout Retainers and Why They Matter
Retainers are not a sales add-on. They are a clinical necessity if you want to keep the alignment your braces achieved. The reason is simple. Teeth do not have a memory. The bone that held your teeth in place during treatment takes 6 to 12 months to fully reform around the new positions. During that period, teeth want to drift back toward where they came from.
What happens without a retainer:
A custom retainer at $250 per arch ($500 for both arches) is significantly cheaper than starting orthodontic treatment over. We strongly recommend retainers but the choice is yours. If you decide against them, we will document that you understood the trade-off.
- First 3 to 6 months: Full-time wear (22+ hours per day, removed only for eating)
- Months 6 to 12: Nighttime wear only
- Long-term (year 2+): 2 to 3 nights per week to maintain alignment
- Lifetime: Even minimal occasional wear maintains the result indefinitely
